Chennai Super Kings had a remarkable season in the Indian T20 League 2021, finishing in the second position on the points table and making it to the playoffs. Despite a slow start to the season, they bounced back in spectacular fashion and showed why they are one of the most successful franchises in the tournament's history.

In the 14 matches they played, Chennai won 7 matches and lost 5 matches, with 2 matches ending without a result due to rain or other reasons. They started the season with a loss to Delhi but quickly recovered and won their next 5 matches. They had a bit of a dip in form in the middle of the season, losing 3 matches in a row, but they bounced back with 3 consecutive wins to seal their spot in the playoffs.

The Chennai team was led by MS Dhoni, who showed his leadership skills yet again. He led the team from the front, contributing with both the bat and behind the stumps. The other players in the team also stepped up when needed, with Moeen Ali, Faf du Plessis, and Ravindra Jadeja being standout performers.

In the playoffs, Chennai faced off against Delhi in the Qualifier 1 match but were defeated by a clinical performance from Delhi. They then faced Kolkata in the Qualifier 2 match, but were once again defeated, bringing an end to their campaign.

Overall, it was a great season for Chennai, who showed that they still have what it takes to compete at the highest level. With a great mix of experienced and young players, they will be a team to watch out for in future seasons of the Indian T20 League.
